The Stupidest Idea People Have About Insecurity.

Jaemin Frazer, how to overcome insecurity

The stupidest idea people have about insecurity is this:

That it’s a lack of confidence.

It sounds harmless.
It’s actually catastrophically wrong.

Because the moment you label insecurity as “low confidence,” you automatically prescribe:
• hype yourself up
• think positive
• fake it
• act bold
• perform harder
• self-discipline your fear away

Which is exactly how people end up fighting themselves for 20 years.

It turns insecurity into a performance problem.

When it’s not at all.

Insecurity isn’t weakness.
It isn’t shyness.
It isn’t low self-esteem.

It’s much simpler and much dumber.

It’s a childhood accusation you never questioned.

A bad conclusion you made when you were four.

And then you built your entire adult life around protecting it from being exposed.

That’s it.

Not trauma drama.
Not pathology.
Not “I need more confidence.”

Just:

“I decided something untrue about myself… and never went back to check.”

Which is almost funny.

Like living your whole life based on a rumour you started.
