The 4 stages of an effective apology

Contrary to popular opinion, it is not time that rebuilds trust, it is simply an effective apology. The aim of giving an apology is always to restore relationship with someone you care about. For the apology to be effective, it must cover these four stages.

- What you did,
- Why you did it,
- Empathy about the pain you’ve caused and,
- A believable plan about why it’s highly unlikely to happen again.
